The artistic horizons of Juliette Moussy (París, 1983) finally opened up when she discovered ceramics and began to master clay. The barrier between art and handicrafts that they had tried to teach her at the Faculty of Fine Arts fell once and for all and became an open, permeable border she passes through freely in her workshop in Barcelona. Having also trained in sculpture and jewellery making, it was the process of transforming the materials of pottery making that captivated her. For her, working with clay involves patience, dialogue, listening… And, without this form of expression, she would feel as if she had lost her voice.

Each of her pieces, which are strongly influenced by primitive art, is unique, as for Juliette it is essential to sense the emotion and symbolism behind each one. She also believes that the subtle relationship between the artist and those who appreciate her work is sacred. In Juliette’s hands, every emotion has a relief map, its own valleys, mountains and cliffs. The aim of her work is to translate these emotions into objects.
