Cora Sabourin

Born in France, raised in Brazil and now a resident in Spain, Coraline Sabourin (París, 1990) is an artist and ceramist who has explored many routes on her journey from her training in fashion design and her arts studies. She established a truly miraculous bond with clay 5 years ago and since then has never stopped working with it. Her work shifts between crafts and art. She creates sculptures with a very intuitive process, seeking reconnection with certain feelings and memories, taking inspiration from nature in organic forms and elements that invoke places that identify and make the work complete, such as the sea, forests and mountains. She likes to challenge herself throughout the creative process to build complex shapes that spontaneously and fluidly challenge balance and create potential inherent tensions. She is fascinated by ancient techniques, traditional ceramic processes and the universe of glazes, which enables her to create her own recipes and be even more intimately linked to the entire process. She currently lives in Barcelona, where she teaches ceramics and works on her own pieces.
