If there is a creative embarkation marking the craft career of Luis Portabales (Pontevedra, 1972), it was building a birdhouse. He made it with a wooden fruit box and using tools he used to mount stretchers for his paintings. On the journey from that germinal work have arisen today his cedar cabins, warm shelters that invite you inside to make yourself at home and get cosy.

With a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts, Luis positions himself in an intermediate space between art and craft and considers that drawing is the basis of his creations. In these creations, the symbolic and conceptual is in balance with the aesthetic and functional. His objects are born to be lived with and to project beauty into the quotidian. Time is an ally and even improves them.
