La Jara
La Jara

When Berta (Ciudad Real, 1991) tried the potters' wheel for the first time, it was love at first touch. She graduated in Fine Arts and specialized in advertising until ceramics saved her soul. Thanks to this discipline, and the later discovery of glazes, Berta had finally found a space where she could feel free to immerse herself and unleash her creativity. She says that leaving advertising and devoting herself to the world of ceramics was the best gift she has ever given herself. But the creative flow of La Jara, her brand, is also based on some very carefully thought out technical and conceptual work. For Berta, it's important that her pieces are grounded in very solid and well–structured ideas, a kind of shared seed bed where all her work stems from. The pieces made at La Jara reflect her interest in shared imaginary worlds that have fallen into disuse or neglect, which she rescues and reinterprets to breathe new life into them.
