The Glass Apprentice
The Glass Apprentice

Viscous glass in a molten state was an inspiration to Pròsper Riba Vilardell (Barcelona, 1992) because it reminded him of honey, and because its indomitable spirit challenged him to create, explore and invent, especially when he discovered that blown glass allowed him to express his emotions, feelings and vision of the world.

Trained in schools and workshops in Europe and the USA, with notable masters such as those of the Glasfachshule Zwielsel and Bild–Werk in Germany, Pròsper now works at his workshop in Barcelona, creating self-designed pieces and collections based on ancient techniques, his own research and the tools and vision offered by contemporary design. His brand, The Glass Apprentice, also sets out to contribute knowledge and disseminate the modern craft of glass blowing.
